If I Could Do It Over ...

Ok, let's have some fun today. Finish the sentence:

If I could do it over ...

Let me give you a few examples to start you off.

If I could do it over, I wouldn't turn the stove on high and use my new pot to make popcorn. (It just makes things too smokey and ruins beautiful new pots! Boo hoo!)

If I could do it over, I wouldn't change the ingredients in Betty's Crockpot Enchilada Casserole to something I think my family would enjoy better. (You just end up with a table full of complainers and a crockpot full of muck.)

If I could do it over, I would give him the benefit of the doubt instead of jumping in with accusations.

If I could do it over, I would read the instructions FIRST!!! It saves a lot of time.

If I could do it over, I wouldn't worry so much about what people think about how we raise our kids. I would just pray that God would help us do what is best for OUR family.

If I could do it over, I would tell more of my friends in school that I was a Christian, and then tell them why.

If I could do it over, I would adhere to traffic laws instead of thinking that I could slip by.

Ok. Your turn. What would you do differently if you could do it over? Comment anonymously if you need to!! Ha ha!

I'd take more time to let my family know how much I really appreciate who they really are.
...I'd take more time to play with my grandkids
...not worry what others think or say about me, my family, my house, etc.
...be more thankful for all the blessings we enjoy, but take for granted every day
...go out in the COLD snow and make snow angels with my grandkids before the snow got "dirty"
...make less food for a meal to avoid leftovers...
the rest of my list will remain unpublished so as not to offend or upset anyone near and dear to me, so I guess I'd just better forget about those, myself and save myself some fretting over things I can't change.

I think we all live with regrets of some sort or other. What gives me hope is that I can start new again each day and make changes if I am willing; that's the hard part. Lilly

OK, so there's a lot of things if I could do over, I'd do, but first, which pan are you talking about? do you need another?
Are you taking after your Mom in messing with recipies to try to make a family happy?
The benefit of the doubt is a ditto for me.
Not reading instructions first?? That's a "guy" thing that happens way more than a "gal" thing from my point of view.
I still worry too much about what others will think. I think my Mom kind of instilled that in us when we were kids.
I really think I'm doing a better job at living with more of a Christian attitude than I ever had.
Traffic laws...hmmm. What are you trying to say there? I learned my lesson at 6:15AM in QUIET D-town at the 4-way stop when the flashing lights just snuck up behind me and he said "you didn't come to a COMPLETE stop." and nobody was even around! He was on a side street watching. I still think I didn't do anything wrong, even with the warning, but I make sure I stop completely each time now.
And I could go on and on and on, depending how far back in my life I want to go....

I'm glad I can't do it over- there are lots of ways to mess up stuff that I haven't even tried yet! But I'm so thankful that I DID spend time with the people I loved when I had the chance... and that I DID put spending time with my children before housework or other obligations...and that I DID come to know Christ before I wasted too much time...and that I DO know Him as Lord of my life.
