What Am I?

The teacher was giving her second grade students a lesson in science. She had explained about magnets and showed how they would pick up nails and other bits of iron.

Now, it was question time and she asked, "My name begins with the letter M and I pick up things. What am I?"

A little boy in the front row said, "You're a mom."

Funny. I used to tell my boys I was their mom, not their maid. They are not synonyms, children!

the rule at our house is, if Mama picks it up, it goes in the garbage...and if toys aren't picked up before bed and any other time Mama says, Mama picks 'em up! (we don't usually have a problem getting our toys picked up when Mama asks....)

Mom's are magnets that pick up things, and put them in Hauk...never to be seen again. We're still looking for things Gram picked up.
